  2. Windows Explorer High Power Usage

When I opened the task manager to check on my laptop's current performance, I scrolled down and saw that Windows Explorer's power usage said very high. I have not noticed any performance issues from it that I know of, and I'm pretty sure this is not normal.
I also do not know what the typical CPU usage is either, but it seems always to be around 22% - 25%. What can I do to fix this?

HIGH POWER USAGE WITH MICROSOFT EDGE

    Hi André, I'm Bill.

You could try resetting Edge to it's original unused state, which might disable whatever process is using so much power. Here are the steps you can follow:

    - Click Start and type "apps & features".

    - Select Apps & Features.

    - Find the app in the list and select it.

    - Click Advanced Options

    - Click Reset.

Keep in mind you'll lose customisation within Edge, so you might need to set it up how you like it again once you've done this. Hopefully this stops the high power usage, but if not, let me know! Thanks!

    file explorer

    Hi,

There is possibility that when the File Explorer is running slow, there are services or startup programs that has high memory or CPU usage that are running in the background. Answering the following questions may help us in uncovering the underlying cause
    of the issue:

    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue?
    • Were you able to check the Task Manager to see if there are services or startup programs with high memory or CPU usage?
    • Were you able to install all pending updates on your computer?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you already performed?

    Regards.
