    Highlighting text and unwanted auto copy/paste issue


    Whenever I left click and drag to highlight text for editing, it stops highlighting the text mid-process if I have to highlight more than one line of text, makes a copy of the line of text that is already highlighted, and then pastes it automatically when I let up on the left mouse button. It occurs most frequently in my browser, but it has become an issue in any program I'm editing text in. This started a couple weeks ago and I don't recall changing any potentially related settings. I've used Windows for nearly 30 years, and although I've seen Windows do many a Windows thing, I've never seen

    Windows 10 ( basic ) clipboard issue not all highlighted text is copied to clipboard ( usually trying to copy one page of text )

    I'm writing a book and need to do quite a lot of copy and paste !!!

    I have tried one suggestion seen in Community - cAdd new user - so I did and rebooted and logged in as new user and copy and paste worked with full page of text !!!

    Problem with highlighting text to cut or copy in Word

    Microsoft Word, Windows 8. I often copy and paste things within a document. My problem is that after I block the text (highlight it) and right click to copy the text the highlighting goes away. It takes about three tries before it stays highlighted so
    that I can copy or cut the text. It's frustrating and means that everything takes longer. It didn't used to do this. I'm not sure what has changed

    I recommend you to follow the below steps, and check if that helps.



    Method: Highlighting and copy with mouse.



    1. Click on the Windows logo
    2. Go to Settings
    3. Open the mouse & touchpad setting
    4. Turn off Scroll inactive windows
    5. Click on Advanced Mouse Options
    6. Adjust double click speed – (turning this setting down will help)
