  1. History of information/data transferred between computer hard drive and network shared...

Hi,I'm hoping someone can help me with a general query. Is it possible to view the history of data/information documents, excels, files, photos, videos, music etc transferred between my computer's hard drive and shared network drive and an external storage device i.e. external hard drive or memory card?If not, is it at least possible to view the history of the external storage devices that have connected to my PC in the past? Thanks,Bruce & Alfred

    :)

transfer files between computers on a home network

I don't know why this is so hard to do but I would like to transfer files between a desktop PC running windows 10 pro and a laptop running windows 10 home. I would like to transfer files in both directions. Both computers are on the same home network and are connected wirelessly.

Could some one provide either specific step by step instructions on how to do this (I googled and found a countless list of instructions that don't work)

or a link to a reference.

    Thanks,

I don't know if this is possible but it would be nice to see the computer sending the desired file in the explorer file manager of the computer receiving the desired file and then under the computer see a list
    of shared files and folders.

Again, this seems like such a reasonable way of sharing files and folders. Shouldn't there be a simple way to do this?

Unable to connect to network drives and shared folders from accounts using File History

Unable to connect to network drives and shared folders from accounts using File History

    Hi all.

I have recently started having trouble with my mapped network drives to another computer I use for file sharing. Out of the blue after a windows update the shared computer started to ask for my windows credentials to access the share. Even with the
correct user name and password it outputs the message “The specified network password is not correct. There are three different users all with different passwords and all end with the same result. All os’s are Windows 10 home or pro.

So far it is only an issue with the user accounts on the other computers that use file history over the network to the file server. I can however use these computers to talk to a NAS without a password.

Currently I have tried the following.

    • Re-entering the windows credentials through the credential manager.

    • Disabling File history and changing the drive

    • I attempted to restore all the computers to a previous date however window informs me that an Anti-virus program stopped the restore and no changes occurred

      • I’m using TrendMicro Maximum and Malware Bytes Pro

    • Rebuilt one PC with a fresh install of windows 10

      • This was only a temporary fix and the fault occurred again.

      • On PC it is not an option to do a fresh install.

    • Reloaded the File sharing computer from an image of a fresh install with all the accounts and shares pre-set.

    • Rebuilt the file sharing computer from scratch with a fresh install of window 10 Pro
Currently I have drawn a blank on what to do next.
