Windows 10: Holding left-click drawing rectangle on desktop

    Holding left-click drawing rectangle on desktop


    I can hold the left mouse button down on my desktop, drag it, and draw a rectangle. The problem is, that it has changed from a shaded, colorful rectangle to a not shaded white outlined rectangle.

    When on the desktop I hold left click and its a white dotted rectangle

    When on the desktop I hold left click and its a white dotted rectangle how do I make it blue again I don't like how it is like this.

    I would suggest you refer to the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

    1. Press Windows key + R.

    2. Copy-paste %windir%\system32\systempropertiesperformance.exe and press enter.

    3. Put a check on Show translucent selection rectangle checkbox.

    4. Click Appy and OK.

    Holding left-click drawing rectangle on desktop

    Windows 10 Ctrl+D shortcut draw rectangle

    I am having issue with windows keyboard shortcuts in windows 10.

    When I press Ctrl+D a pencil appears and I can draw rectangles with green borders. In such mode I can also use Ctrl+Z to remove last rectangle I draw.

    It does not matter what you have open. When you press Ctrl+D it will let you draw a rectangle.

    Maybe there is an option to see what is using such keyboard shortcut?
