  1. Home Network and new wireless AP management issue

I have a home network and just installed a new wireless Access Point. But I cannot get into the AP device to manage it and assign a new SSID and Password. The manufacturer specifies to go to 192.168.188.253 of the wireless device, but I cannot get there. I suspect it is due to the design of my network which is as follows:Comcast connection -> Cable Modem with inside ip -> 4 port Gig Router/Switch likely the gateway 192.168.nn.XXX -> PoE Injector module -> new wireless AP.Our previous AP device had the ip of 192.168.nn.XXX and worked just fine. It seemed it was assigned by DHCP

    :)

    wireless network

    Vista or XP?

You need to go in and delete the network. Then it will pick it up again, and ask you to enter the key again.

On Vista, you do this by going into Networking and Sharing Center. The click on Customize, then click on Merge or delete network locations. Find the SSID of the router in the list, and delete it.

On XP, I believe you have to go to Network Connections, then right click on your Wireless Adaptor. Go to Status, and there should be a button to Manage Wireless Networks, that should take you to where you need to be to delete the network.

Unable to display list of wireless networks.

    Hi Richard,

Wireless networks could be set as a private network and that could be a possible reason why you are experiencing issues with viewing some wireless networks within your area. For us to provide better assistance, we would need to know if you are trying to
connect to a public wireless network.

For initial troubleshooting, we suggest performing network reset. Follow these steps to do so:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on Network and Internet.
    • Under Status, look for Network troubleshooter and then click on Network reset.
    • Restart your computer once the process completed.

If the same issue persists, you can follow the steps provided on this
    link
. It provides information and steps on how to address network connection issues in Windows 10.

    Update us with the results.
