Windows 10: HomeGroup to be removed ?

Windows 10 broken homegroup entry on machine; cannot remove it nor connect to new homegroup

I had a homegroup working that included this laptop. Because of problems with other PCs in the homegroup I disconnect everything from this homegroup, tried to remove it as far as possible and create a new one. This finally worked everywhere, but on this
laptop the old homegroup cannot be completely removed and therefore the new one cannot be connected to it.

I deleted all entries in C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking, started the laptop new, connected the homegroup provider PC to the network first, then the laptop, but I still see the old homegroup in its homegroup display.
If I click on "show password", nothing happens. If I click on "remove homegroup", it says: could not remove. It does not show me the new homegroup created by the other PC nor offer me a possibility to connect to it.

The automatic homegroup repair function cannot find any problem. sfc/scannow finishes without finding any inconsistencies.

How can I delete the broken homegroup entry from the laptop so it is ready to connect to the new homegroup?

 

I can't join my Homegroup?

I removed the homegroup on both computers, but My desktop still thinks that there is a homegroup on it. When I try to look at it there is none there. My laptop shows "no homegroup on the network" I have rebooted both computers after removing the homegroup.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me.

 

You can remove that question mark from the title, it has already been remove in the Insider builds. We'll see it first in The Spring Creators Update (1803), expected to be release in April.
