Windows 10: hotmail login box and chrome password manager

I use google chrome on my windows 11 pro 22h2 and I access microsoft hotmail via chrome, I do not allow chrome to store my password. My daughter used my pc to access her university login which is stored within chrome and when I login to hotmail her university login name and password are autofilled. If I swipe her name and enter the first character of my login my hotmail name is inserted and my password is displayed in plain text within the dialog box. When I press next I then have to enter my password as it has not been autofilled as it is not stored in chrome password manager. Please help

No password login box

Hi Helen,

There could be changes made with the settings on your computer that has disabled the option to have users to log in with a username and password. This should be enabled back to get again the login window.

If you're able to login to your system without using the password, please follow these steps to enable the login window during startup:

• Right-click the Windows key and select Run.
• In the Run field, type in control userpasswords2 and hit
  Enter.
• In the User Accounts dialog box, check the box for Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.
• Click Apply, then OK.
• Restart your computer and see if you're prompted with the login window.

In case you can't login to your system, please boot your computer in Safe Mode. Check out the link,

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10 and follow the steps in From the sign-in screen. Once you're in Safe Mode, follow the steps above to enable the password prompt. Once done, restart your computer to go back to normal mode.

Google Chrome ask for Windows 10 password to view Chrome passwords.

To have a better clarity on the issue and guide you accordingly, respond to the questions listed below:

1. Are you using a Microsoft account or a Local account in sign in to that account?
   
2. May I know if your computer is connected to a Domain (organization) network?
   
3. Are you able to access websites using other web browsers?
   

Google Chrome will save login usernames and passwords and will automatically complete the sign-in fields for you the next time you visit the websites. It’s a good security measure added by Chrome.

If you do not want Chrome to ask for your Windows login password when you access, you can either remove the Windows user login password from your account or disable the password manager re-authentication feature in Chrome. To disable the password
manager re-authentication follow the below method:

• Open Google Chrome browser and type chrome://flags in the address bar and press Enter.
  
• You get a list of features available, scroll down to see flag labeled
  Disable Password Manager Re-authentication.
  
• Click on the Enable link below its feature description to enable the feature.
  
• Click on the button labeled Relaunch Now to restart chrome with new settings.

Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???
