Windows 10: Hotmail, running on win 10 laptop, stopped working. Upon sending, I get a notification:...

Hotmail simply stopped receiving mail and, when I try and send new mail, I get a banner saying "there was an error sending your message" but nothing referring to what the problem is or how to address it. I can 'dismiss' the banner but the problem remains.I've done a few cold reboots of the computer. Everything else works, including internet access.I've toggled the vpn off...I've 'reset' the Outlook app, as per general online advice, but still no joy.I haven't knowingly loaded any new programs or updatesIs there a simple fix for this?Do I need to buy a product to fix this?Please advise :Thanks

Cannot get notifications to work

Hello,

Awhile back notifications suddenly stopped working, I can't remember if it was after an update.

Under Settings > System > Notification & actions. I have "Get notification from apps and other senders" enabled and have toggled the switch to on under the app list. Still nothing.

Bit of googling founda suggestion to run the SFC, while it did find and repair files, notifications still do not work.

Any ideas?

 

Apps not sending notifications to Action Center on PC, but will on Laptop

So, I installed Win 10 on my laptop first, then my PC. On my laptop, I get all my notifications through the action center (email, games... etc).

After installing Windows 10 on my PC (and syncing my account via Microsoft), I don't get notifications through the action center. For example, on my laptop, the live tile for my email will update, but the live tile for the email will not update on my PC.
I get email notifactions on my laptop, but not my PC.

One game I have, Star Wars Commander, sends notifications on my laptop. However, installed on my PC, I get zero notifications and in Settings -> System -> Notifications & actions the app is not listed.

Under the notifications settings for my PC I have the following apps listed for notification

- Chrome, Mail, Office, One Drive, Explorer and Win Feedback.

On my laptop I have

- Chrome, Mail, OneDrive, News, Star Wars Commander, Xbox, Win Feedback.

tl;dr: Why can't I get notifications from the same apps on my Laptop and PC?

To stop action center notifications, I suggest you to follow the steps given below:

  Type settings in search bar and hit
  enter.
  
• 
  Go to system.
  
• 
  Select notifications and actions.
  
• 
  Click on turn system icons on or off.
  
• 
  Turn off action center.
