The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

Hey guys

So I'm taking a break from finding myself a machine and instead getting my mum a replacement. She doesn't do anything fancy; just web, e-mail, YouTube, photos, that sort of thing.

She has a HP netbook which is as good as useless, even for browsing; continually hangs.

She has arthritis so it has to be a light machine, hence I'm looking at ultrabooks. I've come down to these two:

• Acer V5 552 (link)
  
• Refurb. HP Sleekbook b130sa (link)

I'm tending to the former. They're pretty equal, though I guess the Acer edges it slightly processor-wise. The HP has a 32GB SSD and, being a refurb, is £60 cheaper. But... I just hate HP/Packard Bell gloss. I honestly don't know why any tech manufacturer ever has ever released something in gloss. It looks universally tacky and just shite.

So, any thoughts beyond what I've already noted?
