Windows 10: How can DISM restorehealth from Windows 10 21H2 ISO image source

Yesterday after getting my Lenovo laptop back from the service centre, I restored my Acronis True Image backup images to my onboard SSDs. Pacing through Windows Update, I eventually installed 21H2 feature update.Next day I observed see some strange application errors likeFaulting application name: fwdetectcmd1911.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5dde0fc6Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.19041.1348, time stamp: 0x9166324bException code: 0xe0434352Fault offset: 0x0012b502Fa

How to get damn DISM to work?

"sources" no capitol , and plural


i mounted the ISO, and ran this command here

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:WIM:X:\sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess
"x" = drive letter

This fix is needed to also do the part of the step needed in the other issue I have on the other thread:

Windows Store doesn't
update apps. It's service "svchost.exe (netsvc)" is either doesn't downloading bytes, not responds, or unreliable and not using bandwidth full potential

 

Source to use for DISM on Windows 10

This is not completely true. The suggestion is to download the Techbench version and use DISM to apply to install.wim directly. However, you can also use the version download from MCT except it will involve an extra step as follows:

1. Use the latest version of 7-Zip to extract the content of install.esd. For example: to a folder xxx on the desktop
2. From Admin command prompt:
   Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\xxx\windows /LimitAccess

See screen shot, the contents of install.wim and install.esd are exactly the same.
