Windows 10: How can I access my passwords when I don't know my window password?

Since Microsoft basically took over my computer I can't access my saved passwords. I need to know the windows password but I never had one. My late husband probably knew it but I can't ask him anymore. This is really bad because I can't use my computer to do so many things I always used to do. Banking online is now impossible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???
