Windows 10: How can i access my Social Security Account-The HELP Desk, Id.me, Log in Gov, and FBU at US...

How can I log into my Social Security Accountt? I am 78 years old and not very computer literate. I am a retired, living in Germany. I use an APO address at a local US Army Kaserne in Kaiserslautern. Registered my change of address with the SSA at the agency in Baltimore, Md. My calls were either dropped, waiting times too long,, and practically impossible to contact a customer service representative. I went thru the rigamaroe with the ID.me and Log in .Gov. Received 3 temporary passwords thru the Snail mail. Any suggestions.

To answer you query about the administrator id created by the Answer Desk, follow the steps below to hide it on the locks screen of the computer:

• Log in to the other administrator account.
• Search for cmd, right-click on in and then select Run as administrator.
• Type net user "name of account" /active:no
• Restart the computer.

If you want to unhide the administrator id created by the Answer Desk, just follow the steps below and change the word from
active:no to active:yes.

Also may I suggest you change email accounts to one of the following.....

Gmail
Outlook

The reason is they both use "Step two verification". This style of verification means even if a hacker gets your password they cannot log in to your account. You see every time someone try's to log in that hasn't been verified you will get a text or a phone call giving you a final code to log in. Its very easy and simple to setup also. The great thing is once you setup your Email application with a specific "application password" from that account you never have to log in again AND your account is protected from being logged in from foreign entities.

I like the new outlook personally however Gmail is also damn good. Gmail also has an IP tracker that allows you to see WHERE the account has been logged in from. Anyway let us know if you wanna change over and have any questions. We will be happy to help and welcome to TPU!

 

Gmail "Critical security alert" message, hacking attempt blocked (long post)

This is not true, it depends how and when you used 2FA. I never get security tokens from Google, I just get an email notification asking if it was me with a button to click, and only if the IP / device used is not in the registered devices list on the account.

That said, if you get these kinds of messages, it means someone knows your password and you need to change that on ALL accounts you have, not just Google.
