Windows 10: how can I add the Canon Zoombrowser EX program to Windows 11

have been using Canon ZoomBrowser EX for many years and have it last downloaded on my Windows 10 Laptops and Desktop.. Canon no longer updates this program so it is not available anymore from them.. trying to download my old copy to my new Windows 11 Laptop without success.. is there any way this can be done where it will work on Windows 11.. need it to download my photos from my cameras' SD card.. for me it's the easiest way to do it..

ZoomBrowser EX - Zb Module has stopped working

I changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in July 2016. In Oct. 2016 my ZoomBrowser EX 5.6 stopped working. The message came up: "Zb Module has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify
you if a solution is available."

I finally phoned Canon Customer Care in Canada at 1-866-226-6634. A wonderful lady spent over half an hour with me patiently helping me through the problem and successfully solving the problem. I had tried tips I found on-line which ended up just causing
me further problems. I would suggest going straight to Canon Customer Care and saving yourself a lot of headaches. In my case, I ended up permanently deleting a number of folders.

Basically my problem was solved like this:

1. Uninstalling my version of ZoomBrowser EX (which I had been afraid to do before in case I lost all of my pictures. The lady at Canon told me that the pictures are saved elsewhere on my computer - "Pictures" not on ZoomBrowser)

2. I re-installed ZoomBrowserEX from my disk, choosing Custom Installation and only checking ZoomBrowser EX.

3. I updated it online to version 6.9 (at www.canon.ca and on home page: <Support & Drivers<Consumer & Home Office< Drivers, Software & Manuals - enter your model name, GO). In the box that tells you what operating system you have (mine said Windows 10)
change it to the operating system you had before Windows 10 (mine was Windows 7). Try this before doing step 1 and 2 - you might not have to do those steps.

4. Under ZoomBrowser Ex 6.9.0a Updater, click the red line: zbx-upd-6-9-0a-1u01-e.zip .

5. If you want to use the Canon CameraWindow to download your photos instead of Windows Photos, update it to version 8.10.4.24 by following the steps in #3 above but click the red line under CameraWindow DC 8.10.4a for Windows.

 

Zoombrowser and windows 10

Works for me

I’m running Windows 10 Pro 64 bits and using Canon’s Digital Camera Solution disc which has ZoomBrowser version 6.8.



Problem

When you insert Canon Digital Camera Solution installation disc and click on Setup.exe you receive an error message.



Solution

• Insert the Canon Digital Camera Solution installation disc.
• DO NOT click Setup.exe. Instead close all open windows and open CD drive to view folders.
• Right click Setup.exe.
• Check Compatibility Mode and select Windows 7.
• Check Run As Administrator.
• Follow prompts.

To change the default upload folder location (In the instance that you have an SSD as the C drive.)

• Connect your camera to the computer. When the Canon Utilities Camera Window PC program opens (Not the
  ZoomBrowser EX program) click on the small gear icon in the upper right corner.
• Next, click on Import tab, then Folder Settings, then Browse.
• Determine the new location where you want your pictures uploaded to.
• Click OK.
