Windows 10: How can I adjust contrast of a photo in the Windows 10 "Photos" app?

How can I adjust the contrast of a photo in the new "Photos" app in Windows 10?


PS., because of Microsoft's poorly thought out naming conventions, it's ambiguous here what "Photos" means. Ie., does it refer to the old "Photos" apps (Windows Photos Live, or something like that) or the new app just named "Photos" (with no help or "about" information to find out what it is). This question is referring to the new "Photos" app in Windows 10 (which shows up as being in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps in the task manager).


PPS. The "Windows topics" option where I'm submitting this request has no relevant topic for this question (and doesn't have a category of "other"). I'm categorizing it as "Files & Folders".

photo app adjustments and album transfers on windows 10

Running windows 10, the menu for photo adjustments briefly shows selections for contrast and some other adjustments, but those selections quickly disappear and I'm left with only clarity and light adjustment options ALSO: when transferring photos from
folder to album and some point the program stopped completing the transfers and the album was left incomplete.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app
