Try the below additional solution:

Single-space your document

1. Select the top of the document.

2. Go to Design > Paragraph Spacing.

3. Choose No Paragraph Space.

I think this is the method you used which only applies to a part of a document.

2. Go to Home > Line and Paragraph Spacing Line and Paragraph Spacing button .

3. Choose 1.0

Notepad line spaceing

How do I set the line spacing in Notepad. When I print a document, it is printing about every other line. So I end up with a lot of whitespace on each page, which should have fill only taken a half a page? Instead I get a printout, two pages long, with a
lot of space between each line.

From what I understand of your issue, it sounds like you're trying to format your text to single-spaced in Microsoft Word. Based on that, I have seen this issue before. When you click back into the document you are selecting an area of your document that
was already formatted to double-spacing. To fix this, select single-space from the Paragraph menu, then start typing without clicking back into the document. Alternative, if this is still not working, I would suggest typing with it still being double-spaced,
then highlight all of the text with your mouse or "ctrl+a" and then selecting single spacing from the Paragraph menu.
