  1. How can I change my audio and microphone format when using a wireless headset?

I've recently purchased a gaming wireless headset from MARS Gaming, the MHW model to be exact.Everything is going well, the audio and microphone works, but I've noticed the format from the audio and microphone are different. I tried to select the format, but it won't let me. The box to select the format is grayed out and no matter how much I click it, it won't show the format options. However, if I connect a wire to the headset because it also provides that option it will change from "wireless audio" to "high definition audio device" and it let's me change audio and microphone quality format.

    :)

  2. Bad Microphone Quality after turning on Audio Enhancements

    Hello,

There are a few things you can try to improve the microphone quality while keeping Audio Enhancements on. Here are some suggestions:

    1. Configure your input device settings: You can adjust the input volume and change the format quality to see if it improves the microphone quality. To do this, go to Settings > Sound and scroll down to the Input section. Adjust the input volume, change the format quality, and test your microphone.
    2. Update your audio drivers: Outdated drivers can sometimes cause problems, so make sure your audio drivers are up-to-date .
    3. Use a noise reduction feature: If you’re dealing with background noise, try using a noise reduction feature to eliminate microphone background noise .
    4. Use a dedicated microphone or headset: Many laptops have low-quality built-in microphones. Try plugging in a dedicated microphone or headset into your PC.
I hope these suggestions help you improve the microphone quality while keeping Audio Enhancements on! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Headset microphone (with audio splitter) not working

My Acer Predator (Helios 300) laptop has a singular audio port, which I use with my headset that has a separate microphone and headphone cable. I have used an audio splitter to get around this issue for a while now, and it has worked perfectly fine. Normally
when I would plug the splitter in, a prompt would appear asking what type of device was just plugged in, options were headphones, speakers, microphone, headset, and one or two other options that I don't remember because I never used them. I would select "headset"
and it would work just fine. Recently, something changed. This prompt no longer appears, and my computer no longer acknowledges the microphone on my headset, instead using the default internal microphone. The headphones still play audio like normal, but I
have found no way to get the microphone working.

If I just plug the microphone chord into the audio jack, it still does not work, and the computer refuses to play audio.

    So far I have tried:

    • Uninstalling and re-installing the audio drivers (multiple times)
    • Updating windows
    • Running the audio troubleshooters (Both for playing audio and recording)
    • Checking for updates to Dolby
    • Scanning for hardware changes in device manager
    • Disabling the default microphone
None of these have done anything.

I'm really at a loss here. I consider myself pretty computer savvy but nothing I've tried has gotten me anywhere.

    Computer won't recognize headset microphone

This is what i see in device manager. Im not sure if the Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) is the one your saying to disable, as that is what is default in playback devices in the sounds panel.

Setting Stereo Mix as the default recording device and disabling everything else still didnt get the mic working, even when the headset is plugged into the microphone only audio port or the mic + sound audio port.
