Windows 10: How can I change my microsoft account that is linked to an email that no longer exists?

I uninstalled Microsoft Solitaire Collection to get the new version and now I can't get it on this laptop because the Microsoft account is linked to an email that no longer exists. How can I change this?

How can I un-link my current Microsoft account that is tagged to my Windows activation license and link it to a new Microsoft account?

You don't make a new account & try to move your entitlements to it, you change the email address associated with the original account.

Sign in to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft with your Microsoft account. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, go to Microsoft account help.

Then enter the AOL details
they will send a verification email to your nominated security check - email address or whatever you set up as a security check
When you have passed that proceed and choose as shown on the microsoft link
If you want to use an existing email address or phone number, go to step 6.
Under Sign-in preferences, select Change sign-in preferences.

Microsoft Account on Microsoft phone linked to email address that no longer exists and whose password I don't know

A few years ago I gave my son a Microsoft phone with a Microsoft Account that linked to an email address I used back then. This email no longer exists. When I go into user accounts in settings, I'm asked for a password, which I've forgotten. I tried to
sign into this account using another PC but was told that this account doesn't exist.

My son now has his own Microsoft account and we want to change to this so he can synch with other devices. He has lots of messages and contacts on there, so we would rather not reset the phone. We just want to change the primary account.

How can we do this?
