Windows 10: How can I change the administrator on a Win 11 laptop?

We have a Win 11 laptop at work that is changing hands and the new user has asked for my help changing her to be the administrator but I can't figure out how to accomplish this. I read another post about changing administrator by changing from a Microsoft to local account but I don't think this is the best fix because I read that it will limit the new user as far as doing things like getting apps from the Microsoft store, Is this correct?Someone recommended that I just do a factory reset on the laptop but the new user is concerned that MS Office will not be there once the reset is done. Change of administrator on Windows 11

I am planning to change my administrator account to a new Microsoft account on Windows 11. I am confident on technical steps but I have a question on consequences. What I mean by that is: when I change my administrator account,

• do I lose some data?
  
• Can I access the data from the previous admin user folder? etc.
  

May I request you to help me with the points where it could go wrong and lose my data or access to the data please? Thanks in advance.

 

Changing Administrators on Laptop

I've read a number of articles on this and what my laptop says and what the articles say don't seem to match.

I have two accounts on this laptop which is Windows 11 (as well as a tablet and another laptop, both Windows 10). They all need to be changed.

The email that I want to get rid of is the administrator; I've added the one I want as an account on this laptop. If I right click on the account picture on the Start Menu, I get three choices - change account settings, lock and sign out. Clicking on account settings, I get the account page in the settings app. It does give me the option to go to a local user setting, but then I get all these warnings about backing up the encryption key.

I need a detailed list of steps to do this. Sorry to be dense, but I want to make sure I get this right.

To change the Account type follow the steps.

  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on change your account type.
  
• 
  Select standard account.
  

To delete the account follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on Manage other Account.
  
• 
  Select the user account.
  
• 
  Click on Delete the account.
  

To create the new user account follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on Manage other Account.
  
• 
  Click on Add A new user in PC setting.
