How can I change the amount of hardware reserved memory/RAM?

I ma really struggling to play the good games like pubg and games like warzone. I has 8gb ram installed HP laptop. Amd 3550h processor with the integrated vega 8 graphics card. Its completely useless for a gamer. So I would like tk change my hardware reserved momory after 1 year of usage. I am currently using windows 11 and I watched a few tutorials for this. I did the regedit one and the ms config one. It just didnt work for me and many people. But there is a bios one. It looks legit but my bios doesnt have an advanced option. I think its because it old and needs an update. I cant figure o

    Half of RAM 'Hardware Reserved'

I have 32GB of RAM installed and half is "hardware reserved" by Windows. I've tried every suggestion I can find, including moving the modules around to different slots. My MB does not have onboard graphics.

    Specs:
    • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AX370M-DS3H (BIOS on latest firmware)
    • CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X (upgraded from 1700x and it didn't help)
    • RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE® LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz C16 Memory Kit
    • GPU: Nvidia RTX-2060 Super

The BIOS, Windows, CPUZ and HWInfo all show 32GB installed and both slots used, but Windows says "Hardware Reserved: 16.1GB".

This was occurring on Windows 10. I am currently running Windows 11 (beta channel) and it didn't help. I also upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 7 1700 with no change.

    Hardware reserved memory

Got that Nikola. The error you are getting which is the "hardware reserved" is almost related to BIOS. Since the previous steps did not work, let us check if the steps below will make any difference on the issue:

    1. Delete some files that you are no longer using.

    2. Re-instate the old BIOS. If it is still not working, install the newer BIOS instead.

    3. Check possible issues with the physical RAM. Check whether you have bad memory modules and if standoff cards are used. Make sure that the memory arrangement is correct.

Let us know if there's any changes.

    Thank you.

how to fix hardware reserved ram 1.1gb

    Hi John,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you would like to uncheck/change the hardware reserved memory size.

I would like to let you know that Hardware reserved memory is reserved for use by the BIOS and some drivers for other peripherals. I would suggest you to not make any changes to this. This will help the computer run smoothly.

If you are facing any problem with the hardware reserved memory, please post back with the issue. We’ll be glad to check and help you accordingly.

    Thank you.
