Windows 10: How can i change the buttons on the top of my keyboard that looks like a volume button but...

The time I got my Windows 11 the volume buttons I thought would change the volume on my computer, and it did not so I was wrong. I am wondering if you could help me out. Thank you, have a blessed day.

Earbud volume buttons not changing volume

I've plugged in wired earbuds to my Surface Laptop 1. When I click the audio buttons on my earbuds to make the volume go up or down, there is no change being reflected. If I change the audio via my keyboard or slider on my laptop, then I can hear the audio
change in my earbuds, so it seems like it's only the buttons on the earbuds not working. These are new earbuds, so I don't think it is a hardware problem.

 

Volume buttons and control do not change volume

Hello.

I have a HP Envy running Windows 10.

Lately the volume buttons on my keyboard do not alter the volume output at all, only when i go all the way down to mute it does mute. I do see the volume bar going up and down whenever i press the keys, so this is no problem with the actual keys or anything.

On top of that, changing the volume with the volume icon in the bottom right corner does not change anything either. Again it seems like the computer does register me wanting to change the volume (i.e. the volume bar differs from 1 to 100%), but it simply
doesnt alter the audio output (besides as mentioned when muting). Right now the volume is really loud so it really isnt usable.

I tried restarting the laptop and searching for updates, but it was fully updated.
