Windows 10: How can I change the installation folder for software?

I am getting really ticked off. For years new software downloads gave you the ability to select the installation folder for the new program or create a new one. Now there is no choice in most and it gets installed somewhere under C:\Windows\Users.I am the sole user of my PC. I expect my software to be installed in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files 86. But I have to go searching through C:\Users\Admin or Administrator followed by Local, LocalLow or Roaming to find it.What benefit is that to me?Is there a Reg entry that can change this or am I stuck with a retrograde "enhancement" for which

Change Folder Icon in Windows 10


I just acquired a new laptop running Windows 10 and am trying to change the icons of the folders in the StartUp "Program" folder so that they would stand out a little better. I used my admin account and followed all the steps listed above, but when I clicked on "Apply", nothing happened. The same basic windows folder icon remained attached to the folder. I also tried to go into Properties and capitalize some of the folder names, but that didn't work either. Looks like something is protecting them, but I cannot figure out what it is much less how to get around this blockage, Any suggestions?

 

Install Diablo 3 on Linux

Just install PlayOnLinux? Why did they make step 2 and 3 of this "tutorial"?

Anyway, looking at the supported software list for PlayOnLinux, D3 is a step in the right direction. Lack of gaming is a factor for a lot of people when deciding on an OS, if more recent games get ported it may help migrate them to their preferred choice.
