  1. How can i change the owner of appdata back to what it was before

i changed the owner of appdata to myself remot, user name because i thought it would help, but i think its causing a lot of problems on my computer with apps not being able to access their own files cuz they are owned by me. The first thing I tried was icacls AppData /t /q /c /reset. that did say it reset a bunch of files but it also failed a bunch of files, if i look at the owner of appdata its still the same remot and im having a troubling time finding anything on how to change it back to what it was before i believe it was Trusted Installer if i type in Trusted Installer on the check

    :)

    Old Owner Name

I bought a used Axim. I changed the Device ID in Settings -> System ->

About. I changed the owner name in Settings -> Personal -> Owner Info.

But when I use Send To on a Windows 7 "desktop", the option for my

Axim lists the old owner's name. Not a major problem, but definitely

annoying. I couldn't find that name in the registry (on the Axim).

Can anyone suggest another place to look?

    Thanks.

  3. Unknown User as Owner

Hi Bree, thanks for stepping up to address this issue.
As far as I know my External Drive has only been used on my PC.

I could try to implement your suggestion and take Ownership of those Folders.
The "Take Ownership" link is present in my right click menu, but I'm currently logged in with my Microsoft account, so perhaps it would be better if I went Properties --> Security --> Advanced & set the Owner to Administrators, no?!

Although my mind is bugged with a new question now.
If I change the Owner & later on I have to restore a backup (Acronis on a CD) won't I encounter problems then?

Would like to change from owner to administrator

Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to change from owner to administrator. Under control panel, user account, user account, manage account, change account, change account type. Under all that is "Choose a new account type for owner ." I am listed
as administrator. But at sign in at start up I listed as owner. As well in Power Shell ISE How I do change that ? Thank you
