  1. How can I correct the name of my home directory?

After installing my Lenovo notebook, I noted that my home directory is called marti, instead of martin. The n is missing. I have reset the machine completely, reinstalling it with the bitlocker key. Home directory name is still wrong. How can I get the home directory to have the right name?I think the account name might also be wrong, but don't know how to see it.

    :)

Correct Directory Location For Pictures Folder

"Now Documents, Videos etc say file location is This PC. But Pictures file location is C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures."

If we understand you correctly, the issue is that Pictures doesn't appear in the left panel under This PC. The correct location IS C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures. This is only an issue of using Step 8 in the tutorial to add it back to the list. See if this screenshot is what you want to achieve- put Pictures folder back in list on L.

  3. Can Not Delete Directory ("The directory name is invalid")

TestDisk MFT Repair reported that the MFT and its mirror were identical. Numerous attempts with Active Disk Editor failed to correct the problem. I was not able to find a step-by-step procedure to delete the directory manually with a hex editor.

After wasting an entire day on this nonsense, I ended up formatting (FAT32 not NTFS again) and reloading. Absolutely absurd that NTFS is so fragile and that no tools are available to correct the problem!!!

    The directory name is invalid

    Hi David,

Since you have rebuilt your computer, it may have made some changes or installed some updates that might be causing the error message "G: \The directory name is invalid". However, let's check if there is a device that you can remove in Safely Remove Hardware
utility. Follow these steps to access the utility:

    • Press the Windows icon + R on your keyboard.
    • Copy and paste this 'RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll".
    • Remove any device that you'll see in the utility.
    • Restart your computer, then observe if the issue will occur again.

We're looking forward to your feedback.
