Windows 10: how can i delete the old window11 after i reinstalled a new one in another drive?

Long story short, I played elden ring on my laptop, walked out get a drink, black screen and cant restart the laptop.Get used on this, same thing happened before while i paly Diablo.Reinstalled the window, forgot the put it in the same driveone more question, if this happen again, is it a faster way to fix the laptop when the laptop cant even start?

• Are you trying to reinstall Windows 8 or Windows 10?
• If you already upgraded to Windows 10, were you able to create a new copy of the recovery drive?

How to stop File History on the old drive and start File History on a new drive?

I use the external drive
for File History and have a lot of information there. I want to restart the File History process on a new drive and place the previous File History drive off-site.

Please suggest the steps to stop File History on the old drive and start File History on a new drive.

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

When you install Windows 11 on the new drive, be sure the old drive is not connected to the PC during the installation, otherwise, the boot partition will be on the old drive.

Then when Windows 11 is installed on the new drive, connect the old drive and go to Disk Management.

On the new drive, be sure there is 3 partitions, the EFI partition, the C drive partition and the Recovery partition, this is important.

If you see those, you should be able to right click each partition on the old drive and choose Delete Volume (this will delete everything on that drive).

If you cannot delete those partitions

Click your Start Button, then just type cmd and on the resulting list, right click Command prompt and choose 'Run as Administrator'.

Run this command and hit Enter:

diskpart

Run this command and hit Enter:

list disk

(Make note of the disk number you want to wipe and enter it into the next command - replace X)

Run this command and hit Enter:

select disk X

Run this command and hit Enter:

clean

Then close Command Prompt and you should then be able to create one large partition on that drive to use as a data drive.
