Hello everyone!Disk 1 is a Hard Drive that used to have Windows on it. Originally it was split into a 250GB partition for Windows, and a 750GB data partition. Currently I have Windows on a separate physical SSD. For a while I had the SSD as my C:, the old Windows partition as my D: and the 750GB partition as my E:.What I'm trying to achieve is merging my HDD into a single partition. I have formatted the D: drive and when I went into Disk Management to extend my E: volume, I realized it's impossible due to this mysterious 532MB undeletable partition in the middle.Running diskpart in Powershell

How can I delete the Recovery Partition for a hard drive that no longer contains Windows?

The hard drive is listed with drive letter P with the Recovery Partition next to it. The hard drive wasn't connected to my motherboard when I re-installed Windows on the new hard drive. I just connected it this morning. The Recovery Partition is listed
as "Disk 7 partition 1" in Disk Management. When I right click on the hard drive, no options appear except "Help". When I reinstalled Windows on the new hard drive, it didn't create a partition named Recovery Partition. It created a partition named System

Will deleting the factory partition render the recovery disk useless?

More than likely it is of no use NOW . The recovery disk is nothing more than drivers and some BS . You will not get the OS and recovering from a recovery disk only works if the drive partition is fine and has been untouched by any one .
The best thing to do is delete all the partitions and just install windows on the HDD make your own recovery disk and your done not to mention you get all that drive space back .

How can I delete what was the recovery partition on a hard drive I no longer have Windows on?

    W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

    - press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
    - diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
    - list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
    - select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
    - clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
    - create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
    - exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
    - click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that
