Windows 10: How can I disable the Elon touchpad when I'm typing.

I'm really sick of of all sorts of things happening whenever my wrist touches this pad. I got rid of my last computer and that was one of the reasons. I just bought this one and now I'm sorry. Is this a windows problem or an HP problem? I taped cardboard over the touchpad on the last HP computer.

These 7 steps allowed me to disable my touchpad (Dell laptop, Windows 10):

1. Win Start button
2. Type in "device manager"
3. Select Device Manager to open it
4. Click down arrow to left of "Mice and other..." to expand
5. Right click Dell Touchpad
6. Disable device
7. Yes

Disable touchpad

Normally, you can disable the touchpad from Device Manager by follow the steps below:

• Go to Device Manager.
• Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
• Right-click on HID-compliant mouse and select Disable.
• Click Yes.
• Check if the touchpad is already disabled.
