    How can I do a 'manual' or advanced install of Windows 10?


    On my last install, winload.exe and the Windows Boot Manager never worked correctly for me, so I forwent using it entirely and use Grub as I already had it installed for my Linux partition. Since then, I've had to format my drive, and I'm trying to set up a second partition for Windows again, but obviously it still has the winload issues, so it refuses to install, saying "Windows cannot prepare to boot the computer into the next phase of the installation". I know the issue lies in the bootloader, but I'll be able to get around this simply by using Grub, is there any way I can 'manually' install Windows and force it to ignore bootloader issues?

    (Specs: i7-7700K, RX 570, GA-Z170-K3)

    Edit: It must be the way my drives are set up or something, because I have plugged them out and used a completely fresh drive, which gives the same error. I have also tried install USBs made with both Rufus and Microsoft's official tool.

    Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

    I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
