Windows 10: How can I do Internet Connect Sharing with an adapter and hotspot?

I've got a philips hue bridge that i've sucssessfully managed to connect to my university public network, eduroam, with windows Internet Conenct SharingICS. The issue is when I try connect my phone to the computers hotspot I'm unable to connect because my internet is already being shared with my 2nd ethernet adapter for the hue bridge. This is required because my phone needs to use the same network connection for it to detect the hue bridge and make the initial connection.My first etherent adapter is used to connect to the network.   What is the make and model of the laptop you are using?
  
• 
  Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue? Is it an abrupt issue?

  Did you verify if the Internet connection Services is running?

  Are you normally connect to internet even when the network sharing fails?

  Do have any System Restore point set in Windows prior to the issue?
  

We also need which of the following cases of network sharing applies to your case:

1. One laptop using its Ethernet connection for Internet access and its WiFi adapter to broadcast.

2. One laptop that is connected to the Internet through a mobile USB modem and broadcasts the wireless network through its WiFi adapter.

As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to check if the following steps help to resolve the issue.

Step-1. Disable wi-fi adapter.

Step-2. Enable it again.

Step-3. Create wi-fi hot spot again.

Step-4. Now share network connection from where internet is connected to wi-fi hotspot adapter.

wifi hotspot connection issues

Thanks for the reply.

Let us follow these steps one by one to check if that makes any difference.

Step 1: You may run the Network Adapter troubleshooter to check if that helps.

• Type Troubleshoot in the Search bar of your PC and open the Troubleshoot settings.
  
• Scroll down the right pane and select ‘Network Adapter’ and click on ‘Run Troubleshooter’.
  
• The PC will then start checking for the possible errors and will possibly detect the issue.
  

Once this is done, restart the PC and check the wifi hotspot connectivity.

Step 2: If the issue persists, then you may want to
update the Network driver and check the status.

Step 3: You may also want to change the adapter settings.

• Open Mobile Hotspot settings on your PC.
  
• Press ‘Windows key + I’ to open Settings and go to ‘Network and Internet’.
  
• Scroll down the left pane and select ‘Mobile Hotspot’.
  
• Go to ‘Related Settings’ from the right pane and click on ‘Change adapter options’.
  
• Identify your mobile hotspot adapter, right click and go to ‘Properties’.
  
• Open Sharing tab and Uncheck “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection”.

Problems sharing internet with hotspot


I've created hosted network with this command
NETSH WLAN set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Your_SSID key=Your_Passphrase
then activated it like this
netsh wlan start hostednetwork


Now i am supposed to share Ethernet internet with this hotspot interface, but there is no drop-down menu in sharing option. There is just text field which can't be edited (or drop-down with one item, but no arrow) and it says Wi-Fi (thats the name of my wireless adapter). But I don't want to share internet with Wifi adapter, I need hotspot adapter.

Any idea how to make the hotspot adapter show-up in the drop-down so I can select it?
