Windows 10: How can I download an ISO using media creation tool onto a drive that is not C?

I have a laptop dualbooted laptop with Linux and Windows 10 with only 120 GB of space, as you could imagine, space is scarce for both OSs. I currently have 10 GB of space free on the Windows partition to update, but that doesn't seem to be enough, I can't download the update directly OR an ISO that I could burn onto a USB and do the update that way.

However, I have various places I could download the ISO to THEN burn it onto the USB (The best option probably being my NFS server), however, Windows is adement on downloading to the C drive for some reason, which does not have enough space to store it.

So how do I get around this issue? I do appear to have NEARLY enough space (I can download the ISO, but it fails when it gets verified everytime by the creation tool, but I don't think I can squeeze out anymore space, I have cleaned everything out, compactOS, compressed the entire C drive, etc.). I could also just download the ISO onto the USB, boot into Linux, move it to my NFS server, and burn the ISO onto the USB from there.

Just mount iso as a drive and run setup.exe - most reliable method.

Thanks Cerberus but Ive no problem downloading the Iso with the media creation tool. I don't think its the ISO that is the problem' I think the problem is when the Media Creation Tool is creating the bootable USB flash drive. So I think I can use the Media Creation Tool for that part...and as you say try something like Rufus to create the bootable USB flash drive

I still have this question though "The tutorial here says after going to the Microsoft site and selecting the Download Tool (Media Creation Tool) option that the Media Creation Tool should be save to the PC and run from there.
On Microsoft site the instructions are to Download the Tool and select Run (no saving to the PC). Is there a reason for saving it to the PC first as suggested on Tenforums?"

I was curious to see if others had encountered the issue I had with the Media Creation Tool. Ive never had a problem using it before
