Windows 10: How can I EDIT typed text to screen shots taken in Snipping Tool or Snip n Sketch?

When you go to "Edit in Paint"Add a text or box of text to a clipping. How to edit the text box before the clipping is saved.Each time I try to click on the text box to edit. The application opens up a new text box to add new text when I try to go back and reopen the text boxI cannot find a way to go back and make a correction to a text box once I click off from the text box.Does this mean you can only input once and it is locked?Lastly, is there a simple guide somewhere on how to use the Snipping Tool and the Edit Paint option

I frequently have the need to add text notations on top of screen shots that I don't want to handwrite on the screen; all I want to do is add some text in a text box, like a text box in PowerPoint, at any place in the snip. That and maybe the ability to
add shapes (arrows, circles, etc.) would be enormously helpful for what I need to do with the tool.

How are others doing this, or is my need unique? Any ideas?

If not, this would be a great add on for Snip n sketch, or to add the ability to open PowerPoint directly from the snip n sketch menu.

Hi, DCristof. Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you, and I am here to work with you on this issue.

Best thing you can do is this:

1. Take a screen shot using the Snip n Sketch tool

2. Click on the [...] icon on the upper right cornet and select Open with

3. Select Paint on the menu that will show up (you can try another photo editor app if you have another one)

4. On the Paint window, you'll see your screen shot. Click on the "A" ícone on the "Tools" section to add text

5. Click on the place you want to add the text and just type it in.

Please try this:

Step 1:

Click Start, and type Snipping Tool.

Right-click Snipping Tool from the search results, and click App Settings

Click Reset,

Click Repair.

Note: In Windows 11, there is no Snip and Sketch. It comes pre-installed with the new Snipping Tool (which replaces the old Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps)

Step 2:

Turn off Focus assist if it's enabled

Step 3:

Open Services.msc and make sure that the following services are set to "Automatic" and running:

• Windows Push Notifications System Service
  
• Windows Push Notifications User Service
