Windows 10: How can I enable brightness control in Linux Mint on a 3rd-gen CPU, similar to modifying...

In Windows, I enable brightness control on my 3rd-gen CPU by modifying the registry at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000 changing 'FeatureTestControl' from f000 to f008. How can I achieve the same in Linux Mint?

Can you please tell me how to disable write protection on a Drive using Linux Mint USB Bootable...

basically messed my computer up and then used linux mint usb bootable to boot. now i wish to format my drive but cannot because it is write protected.....

i can see and access both drives with this bootable usb but unable to otherwise.

so in terminal what on earth do i type to remove the write protection on the drive using linux mint usb bootable.

 

Enable Brightness Control on a Windows 10 Desktop

I'm just wondering whether anyone has a solution or idea on how I can enable brightness control on my Windows 10 Desktop and whether or not it's even possible. My monitor has clunky controls that enable brightness control but the brightness control at 0
is still too bright.

My specs are:

CPU: i7-6700K

GPU: Asus STRIX GTX 970

Monitor: AOC 2070SWN
