Windows 10: how can I export my calendar from my Microsoft account calendar not the calendar in outlook

Firstly, my calendar in Microsost account doesn't match the one in Outlook even after synching.Secondly, and more importantly, how can I can export the calendar from the MS account? I cannot for the life of me figure out how.

Export calendar from Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 to Outlook 2016?


You can manually export calendars from Outlook.com using a round-a-bout method I posted at this link. However, I don't think that's going to help you because what you really want to do is set up Outlook 2016 so that her email, calendar and contacts sync with (and stay in sync with) her Outlook.com account.

Therefore, instead of setting email up as a POP account and then importing calendar, contacts, etc. separately, why not just setup Outlook 2016 to work with her Outlook.com account? I haven't done it with Outlook 2016, only older Outlook versions that used Hotmail Connector, however the following instructions for Outlook 2016 seem fairly straight forward.

If she has two-factor authentication switched on for her Outlook.com account, then you may need to generate an app password from her Outlook.com account, and use that as the password instead of the actual Microsoft Account password.

How to export outlook 2016 calendar to windows 10 calendar app.

How can I export my Outlook 2016 calendar to W10's Calendar app? I have tried saving the Outlook Calendar to an ICS file and then opening that file by right clicking on it to open it with the calendar app but it shows up with "busy" for each event.

Can someone help me here?

Open the Microsoft Works Calendar application, then select the calendar's tab in the right pane.

2. Click the "File" menu, then click "Export" followed by "vCalendar." Select the start date and the end date you want to use for the exported calendar. Click "All Appointments" to export all of your calendar's items or "Appointments Currently Selected in the
Category Filter" to export using your current filtering settings.

Click "OK" after you set the exporting options. Type a name for your calendar, then select a location to save it in the "Save As" dialog. Click "Save" to export the calendar.

4. Open Microsoft Outlook, then click the "Calendar" tab. Drag your saved vCalendar file to the calendar list in Outlook's left pane. This automatically adds the calendar to Outlook.

Here is the problem, you can't import vCalendar natively into Mail nor does Outlook.com support it. Only Outlook 2016.
