Windows 10: How can I extend my hard drive space?

I'm going under Computer Management>Disk Management and have deleted a partition which gave me the unallocated 48gb, and I'm trying to add that unallocated space to the main drive (C), and it's not letting me, When I right the C drive there is only a shrink volume option, the extended volume is shaded gray. How can I fix this?


I have windows 10, not 8. I'll attach a picture.

Changing partition

My windows partition (c is full, how can I move my windows partition or programs file to my extend hard drive?

I have formatted and deleted a partition on my hard drive resulting in unallocated space. I wish to extend the hard drive C: volume into the unallocated space, but can't as this option is greyed out in disk management. How can I achieve extending the hard
drive C: volume? I'm on Windows 10 64-bits.

Because in order to extend the partition, the partition HAS to be next to the freespace..
you have a partition in-between C: and the freespace..

 

I don't get it... How do I move the freespace(unallocated space?) next to the C???

 

A clean install(get rid of the Lenovo crap partition too and recover even more space) is about the only way to straiten that mess out.
Sorry if this reads hard(not meant to be), but that is one messy partitioning, and even if you move partitions around with a 3rd party tool, you risk either data loss, an unbootable system, or both.
So personally, I would recommend backup all data, get your OEM drivers and 3rd party installers beforehand, go to Microsoft.com get the latest MCT and clean install.

 

If you didn't want to use a clean install, (I would though) and wanted to keep the partition that stuck in the middle ,
0. Backup your system.
1. use some software to copy it over to to the 'end' one you've just cleared
2. reduce it's size to just hold what's there now
3. you can then clear the middle partition
4. expand your first partition to take up the new adjacent free space.


Complicated , but the only way...a clean install is much easier.

 

Okay, so I'm thinking about just deleting the partitions in between, would affect my computer badly? I'm thinking about deleting all except for the C drive...

 

That could break any programs that require those partitions, such as the Lenovo OneKey Recovery or the OEM Refresh/Reinstall(containing all OEM crapware) recovery tools.
That's why I said it's just better to get the Windows Media Creation Tool(MCT) and clean install(after using the option to delete ALL partitions and letting Windows automatically create new ones).

Move the recovery partition to the right, all the way into the unallaocated space and select apply
then you can Extend C
