Windows 10: How can I factory reset my computer when I am unable to log in and have corrupted files?

Hi,I tried to troubleshoot why my PC was so slow and in the process, I ended up trying to restart my PC with a lot of different applications not starting up with it. I am now unable to log in with the message "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again. When I try to click said message, it either doesn't do anything or brings up the message that I need to download something from the store to make it work which also brings me in a loop. When I have tried to "Shift Restart" and look into troubleshooting to restart my PC, there is no option to restart and brin

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

No Log-In after factory reset

I did a factory reset on my old computer to get it ready to dispose off. Trouble is, it comes back to the log-in screen but it won't accept my usual password and I don't know how to work around that. Any suggestions?

 

Factory reset vs reset keeping files

I'm going to reset my PC because I have corrupt audio drivers. Will the bootup times be the same if I chose to reset with my files instead of a factory reset? Will I remove potential viruses and such? What i'm trying to ask is what advantages do I get when factory reseting.
