    How can I fix a update problem with my printers drivers, even though I don't own it anymore?


    I have tried to look up ways to solve a 0x800f020b error, and they always are not helpful. All of the answers I have found require the fact that you still own the printer. I don't. The issue is that the driver my computer is trying to download is for a printer I don't own. Can someone tell me how to get it to stop? its annoying to see and I want to be able to be assured when an update is downloaded correctly. Thank you for your time.

    I understand your concern about accessing the printer after the Windows Update, we will help you with this issue.

    Do let us know the following:

    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • How is the printer connected to the computer, locally or through network?
    • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue?

    I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

    Step 1: I suggest you to update the drivers for printer and check.


    • Right click on the Start button from the desktop and select
      Device Manager.

    • Locate and expand Print queue.

    • Right-click on the printer driver
      that is listed and click Update driver software.

    Step 2: I suggest you to run the printer troubleshooter from
    “Fix printer problems”
    and then check if this fixes the issue.

    To be sure that you followed my suggestion correctly, I will specify some steps: CP>devices and printers>add a printer>the printer that I want isn't listed>add a local printer with manual settings>define port>Windows update and install

    I have the same problem: HP driver update for HP LaserJet Professional CM1410 Series PCL 6 - Error 0x80240017

    But the problem is, that I do not have a HP laser jet printer!

    Why does Winndowa Update want to make an update to a printer I don´t have??

    I have tried all the suggestions. Nothing works.

    I cannot uninstall the printer, since I do not have it....
