    How can I fix "context menu > new" not showing system file types?


    When I go to my desktop or a partition or anywhere on my laptop and I right-click and then hover over "new" I only get the options to create a new folder, shortcut, or compressed folder. It does not show me the common file types such as ".txt". keep in mind this problem is recent it was not always like this.
