Windows 10: how can i fix memory related problems in windows 11 23H2?

Hello. I recently updated my laptop to Windows 11 23آ2 and since the update I have problems related to RAM and graphics. My problems are as follows: 1- System RAM problem: My laptop has 16 GB of RAM, but when the usage reaches about 11 GB, my programs crash. For example, Visual Studio Code gives an out-of-memory error while my system RAM still has free space. I checked the system RAM with Windows memory diagnosis software and there was no problem. 2- GPU RAM problem: My laptop has an Nvidia 3070 Ti 8GB graphics card. When the amount of RAM consumption exceeds about 4 or 5 GB, the screen goes

Hello. I recently updated my laptop to Windows 11 23آ2 and since the update I have problems related to RAM and graphics.



My problems are as follows:



1- System RAM problem: My laptop has 16 GB of RAM, but when the usage reaches about 11 GB, my programs crash. 2- GPU RAM problem: My laptop has an Nvidia 3070 Ti 8GB graphics card. When the amount of RAM consumption exceeds about 4 or 5 GB, the screen goes black for a while and the program that uses graphics crashes. Before the Windows update, I used to train relatively large deep neural network models that consumed almost all 8 GB of RAM, but after the update, I encountered this problem.



3- The software related to the graphics card benchmark, such as BurnIn Test, cannot run the 3D graphics test section, and the errors related to Direct X 12 are displayed, while the tests related to Direct X 9 are executed well. I also downloaded and reinstalled DirectX from the Microsoft site, but it did not solve the problem. i used DX diagnosis software and there was no error.

How can I solve these problems without resetting Windows? I have a lot of software and I don't want to get involved in reinstalling them.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS

GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 TI 8GB

RAM: 16GB

laptop model: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503 (2022)

 

Windows 11 23H2 upgrade broke File Explorer, it will not run

Good news!

Problem seems to be fixed by 2023-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5032190) update released 11/14 that I installed on 11/15. In the Knowledge Base notes is the following under File Explorer:

• This update addresses an issue that stops File Explorer from opening.
  

It worked for me, no longer have any problems, no need to re-install (somehow I couldn't roll back 23H2 update and had no recovery point before that time).

The build number 22631.2506 implies the device has been upgraded to 23H2 already.

Here are the version/build numbers for Windows 11.
