Windows 10: How can I FIX my cursor selection tool and pointer for scrolling?

Immediately after installing Windows 11 my bluetooth mouse and trackball, and the track pad on my laptop no longer work properly to select text. If I click and drag multiple times it will sometimes highlight select some of the text I drag over but most of the time nothing happens. I also notice the pointer doesn't control / grab scroll bars like it used to, I have to use the scrolling arrows to move the screen - although my scroll wheel works fine. Selecting text with the shift+ right or left arrow no long does anything either. Last, cntrl C, V, X don't work consistently. Again, both blu

New event. When placing cursor over a list or row of columns, even the volume bar scrolling is automatic and proceeds to one end of the series and stops. The scrolling also stops when I move the cursor away from the list but am unable to select anything in the list. Not all the possible lists are effected. Other sites have recommended mouse/kb fixes. Have tried all those but the phenomena persists. Have not had any known updates recently and don't have a restore point to try. Any other suggestions? W10Pro 1903

Kindly follow these steps

1. Step 1 open Control Panel

(Please Press Start + R, Type Control )

2. On top right please search with 'Mouse' if you see View by: Category.

(You can change the view to Large icons to see all Computer settings)

Step 1: Select "Change the mouse pointer display or speed" if searched with mouse or Open the 'Mouse Properties' window (if you use Large icons)

Step 3: Select Pointers Tab in Properties window and scroll down to see "Text Select" pointer.

Step 4: Click on Browse and enter in file name "beam_rl.cur" (or you can scroll down to see available cursors and choose cursors starting with 'be')

Additional Tip: You can "Enable Pointer shadow" if needed.
