  1. How can I fix the apps on my D drive after a C drive hardware change?

I bought a new SSD C drive for my laptop to replace my old one. I transferred all the files of the old SSD onto my D drive, then obviously went through the whole process of replacing the SSD. I set up windows again and transferred my files from the old SSD which was now on the D drive onto my new SSD the new C drive. The applications on my D drive no longer appear in the storage section of settings, hence I can't simply just press 'repair' or 'reset' app as many sources suggest. I spent a lot of time manually looking for .exe / application files on my D drive and when I find them they ei

  2. Change "D" drive to "C" drive.

How do I copy all files on my "C" drive onto my current "D" drive (including bootup files and Windows 10), then change my "D" drive to "C" drive and my my old "C" drive to "D" drive?

  3. Fixed “C” and “D” drive appear in Safely Remove Hardware

    Hello Community

I’m raising this concern in connection with the fact that “D” drive also appears in Navigation Pane - twice – once under This PC AND again underneath on it’s own.

I have to quickly explain why I’m concerned about it

I recently cleaned my Navigation Pane up – I only want to see Quick Access and This PC – noting else – and I successfully did so with some tweaks from the web.

However – “D” drive still persists twice. I tried a downloaded script do remove it – it worked – but only for a few seconds – than "D" reappeared.

Now – I’m wondering if this has anything to do with the fact that fixed “C” and “D” drive are showing in taskbar > Show Hidden Icons > Safely Remove Hardware? (which they shouldn't).

I have the exact same machine at work, both recently clean installed Win10 Pro, 64, SSD for system) At the work computer there is NO “D” drive outside of This PC - and NO “C” and “D” in Safely Remove Hardware.

Now here is the only difference between the two PCs:

The computer in question has been set to AHCI in the bios AFTER installation (with the necessary registry tweaks) – because it was forgotten when installing Windows. It works perfectly and performs great. However – from that time on I have been seeing:

“C” drive and “D” drive in Show hidden Icons > Safely Remove Hardware at the taskbar

but didn’t put much attention to it since everything worked fine.

    To recapture:

    - “D” drive showing twice in Navigation Pane - want to remove the one outside of This PC

    - “C” and “D” drive showing in Safely Remove Hardware

Are these to observations related? ... are the drives seen as "Removable Devices" (falsely)

Was something overlooked when changing the Bios to AHCI?

    Thanks in advance

  4. How can I fix the apps on my D drive after a C drive hardware change?

    c/drive, d/drive ,photo app

    Hi,

thankyou so much for replying,so you've answered one question for me,about the app.

Unfortunately for me,I have been changing the settings on the app,in my confusion,I added c/and d destination.

All I know is when I've imported photo's over the years,I cannot guarantee,if their in c or d drive.

Should I just try and transfer all pictures on c and d drives ?

I did not choose to have drive's like this,I bought a Dell laptop which dies after a month, and Dell matched the specs and gave me this,I will never again have drives like this.
