Windows 10: How can I fix "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP" that occurs after I try to launch a game?

Every time I've tried launching Fortnite, it loads on a screen different than the normal startup screen then crashes. I'm shown a bluescreen error that reads "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP" I'm not sure what the problem could be since I contacted Epic Games and was told it was a Microsoft issue, however, when I tried to receive help from Microsoft I was told the opposite. This is only happening to Fortnite, none of my other games are having any issues. I'm currently using Windows 11 on my Acer Nitro AN515-44 model.

• What is the name of the game?
• Did you get it from Windows Store?
• Have you checked if the game is compatible to Windows 10?
• What other troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Some steam games fail to launch on Windows 10

• What exactly happen you try to launch Dota 2 using steam account?

For now let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this help in resolving the issue. I would suggest you to disable and enable the graphic driver.

If the issue still persist, I would recommend you to uninstall and reinstall the game and check.
