Windows 10: How can I get a call instead of text for my verification code

Hi after a silly update, I'm no longer able to login into my computer nor my microsoft account because it asks for a verification code. There's no calling the code option and just text. I need to get it called because the phone that is linked to this account is a landline phone that does support text messages. Help me please.

have been sent a code by text, and needs verification, how do I verify it?

 

Add gmail account to outlook without text message verification?

A screenshot might help us identify whether it is MS or gmail that is responsible for this (my guess is gmail). The MS instructions you linked to say that no verification should be required if 2FA (in gmail) is off.

I suggest you turn on 2FA in gmail, and try again.
