Windows 10: How Can I Get A M.S. Verification Code

I just purchased a new desk top computer with Windows 11 I was previously on Windows 10, I am not sure what makes screen "Verify Your Identity" occasionally appear or how to get the security code. The screen has a little box followed by "Text ***-***-**07", and the statements "I have a code" and "I don't have any of these". The phone number ***-***-**07 is a land line phone so I cannot receive a text message. How else can I get the code email, message on land line phone, .... ?

I see you've already followed some steps.

I was reading your answers and I have a suggestion for you.

I once tried to get a verification code on my phone and it said the code was sent but I never received it.

I updated the messaging app and it still didn't help.

I followed some other steps and it didn't help.

My only solution was to remove my SIM Card and put it in another old phone that I no longer used and asked to resend the code and then the verification code arrived perfectly.

This might be a solution for you.

I understand you're not receiving a verification code for your Microsoft account. If your security info's are up to date, you may be experiencing delays receiving the code which I have also experienced before. But if you have already waited too long and have made a couple of attempts, I suggest following the suggested steps in the "Troubleshooting verification code issues" section on the support page below.
