Windows 10: How can I get Bitlocker recovery key.?

I am having a problem with an HP Laptop that I just bought a few months ago. I do not have a Bitlocker Recovery Key. I was never given one, there is not one listed on my Microsoft account. I never activated Bitlocker. I did not even know what it was. Two week ago I let my computer do updates and then restarted. Since then I have not been able to access my computer because I do not have a recovery key. This is something that Microsoft has done to my computer. How can I get my computer to come on.?

What puzzles me is why the Bitlocker recovery key is not listed on the microsoft account, but there is a recovery key listed there for a computer I do not recognise.

I have several laptops but only the HP Envy has had Bitlocker on it. So what key is this on my account? And why isn't the Envy key there?
