Windows 10: How can I get my old pc to reconnect with my microsoft account.

Hi All,This question has been posted before, but I have been unable to find a solution that works. I recently bought a new HP laptop and inadvertently unconnected my previous computer from my Microsoft account. Microsoft recommends that I go to devices and then register my laptop. However, the choice to connect devices does not include laptops. As another person reported, adding the serial number of a laptop simply gives a response of serial number not recognized. This could be because the question is looking for something bought through the Microsoft store.I've also gone to settings/a

Unlink an old android phone from my pc

I go thru the suggested steps: Start - Settings - Phone - Unlink this PC.

When I first open the "your phone" screen the old phone is listed. Not sure if the phone listed is suppose to be selectable or not, but my is not. When I select "Unlink this PC" the phone listed is removed. When I select "Add Phone" the old phone still
shows. I have removed the old phone from my Microsoft Account. I have rebooted after unlink this pc but I still cannot remove my old phone.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to disconnect the old account.

1. Press Windows key + X.

2. Click on Control Panel.

3. Click on User Accounts.

4. Click Make changes to my account in PC settings.

5. Click on your Account.

6. Disconnect.

Further, log on to computer using local account and connect the same with the Microsoft account that you have created.

Steps to reconnect:

1. Press Windows key + X.

2. Click on Control Panel.

3. Click on User Accounts.

4. Click Make changes to my account in PC settings.

5. Click on your Account.

6. Connect to a Microsoft account.

7. Enter the credentials.

Windows 10 Old Microsoft account issue.

I suggest you to login to you’re built in admin account and then remove your old Microsoft account from here and check if it helps.



Step 1: Enable built in admin account

In search type "cmd" and right click on the command prompt and open as Administrator (Elevated command prompt).

In the elevated Command Prompt, type the following command and then press Enter key.

Net user administrator /active:yes, close the Command Prompt.

Restart PC, then you will be able to see Administrator account. Login here and do the changes.



Step 2: Remove the old Microsoft account

  Click on Start and select Settings.

  Click on Accounts.
  
• 
  Now from your email and accounts
  select your old account and click on Remove and follow the instructions.
  

To hide the Admin account, use the below command:

net user administrator /active:no
