Windows 10: How can I get my thumbnails to show when selecting pics and files?

I cant find any setting that works that will display the thumbnails for a preview BEFORE I send it to somebody.

Many thanks for you reply. I have done all the steps you suggested, but no change,

When I open a folder containing photos, some open correctly but the vast majority open with thumbnails, but they very quickly get overwritten and you can not longer see the thumbnails.

Are there any more suggestions?

 

Picture ICONS instead of thumbnail pics

Suddenly all of my picture thumbnails are ICONS, instead of thumbnail pics. I have gone through the steps of Unchecking a box that says "always show ICONS instead of thumbnails" and that did NOT help.

I don't like Microsoft Edge or the Cloud, I think those are the culprits that keep doing this to my thumbnails.

 

Thumbnail pics arn't showing up anymore.....

So I meant to make it so that only one folder wouldn't show the thumbnail pics anymore but instead I somehow made it so all folders and even pics don't show anymore. It just shows a regular yellow folder now with a name but no thumbnail preview of whats
inside. And pics inside the folder don't show anymore either it just show a little blue mountain instead. I can only see them if I click on them to open them. How do I undo this??
