Windows 10: How can I get rid of an unknown 2nd admin account on my login page?

My PC power up login screen shows two admins, but only one shows up in my account to change or administer. The other I cannot login or reset password. When I use cmd and enter net user only one admin account comes up which is mine. The other one that shows on my login screen does not appear anywhere except my login screen. Why am I seeing a second admin that has no password and no way to reset or delete it? It does not show up on my MS account or my PC accounts, just the login page.

1. Are you using a Microsoft account or a local account?
   
2. Which version of Windows 10 you are using currently?
   
3. Is the other user account an admin account?
   

I suggest you to try using the on screen keyboard at the login page and check if you are able to login to the PC.

1. At the login screen click on the
   ease of access icon at the bottom right hand corner.
   
2. Click on the on screen keyboard to open it.
   
3. Type the password and try to login.
   

If you are using a Microsoft account, I suggest you to refer the article on

how to reset your Microsoft account password.



However, if you are using a local account, then I suggest you to refer the article on

reset your Windows 10 local account password.



Note: While performing these steps, there might be a risk of data loss. You may take a backup of the data before performing the steps.

Windows Login fail

It doesn't even get to the login screen. It has only an Admin account. This is the 2nd time its happening after running repair once. Maybe I'll try Vista on it if links given by Ahhzz doesn't work.

 

How to delete a 2nd Administrator account?

Surface Pro 7+ laptop with 1 admin and 1 user account. Worked well, until I messed up things in an attempt solve a software issue. Deep sigh.... From within the 2nd account, I created a 2nd "Local Administrator". Did not think it over properly, some software required admin rights to be updated So, right now, I have: 'Me' as administrator My wife as user and a local administrator. Note that the setup of this 'local admin' has not been completed. I would like to get rid of the last one. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. (Windows 10 x64)
