Windows 10: How can I get rid of this blue file icon problem?

Good day, Please help! These icons appear everywhere on my laptop's desktop and task bar. Sometimes they appear correct, but most other days it's like this. Will it possibly have something to do with Avast?Thank you in advance, Adele

Folders and Files have Blue Pointing Arrows


You might be able to get rid of them as discussed in this thread and you'll just have to find the right icon in the 1st step of the tutorial

Windows 10 and Office 360 on PC. Blue arrows in corner of file icons in File Explorer

In the last couple of weeks all the files and folders in File Explorer have two blue arrows pointed at each other at 45 degrees in the top RH corner of the icons, whether icons, tiles or list. Anyone know what these are and what they signify? Can I get
rid of them?

 

Remove yellow/blue sheild icon from shortcuts


After upgrading to Windows 10, some desktop shortcuts have UAC shield icons. Is it possible to remove them?





EDIT: Here's a solution...
Launch the shortcuts via CMD:

1. Right-click the shortcut to Properties
2. Click Change Icon, then click OK when its window pops up (necessary step to avoid losing the icon)
3. Add the following, plus a space, to the beginning of the Target field, leaving the existing path at the end:

   cmd /c start ""

I had previously solved this by editing a system icon file, but that method doesn't seem to be working as of update 1607, plus it was a lot more trouble.
