Windows 10: How Can I Get the 2018-07 Cumulative Update to Install?

My HP Desktop hasn't been able to install the 2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based systems (KB4338825) for the past month or so no matter what I do. I do see this noted ~ ERROR Ox800731b and Potential Windows Database error detected.


Is there something simple my "simple" mind can do to get this to install? Would it be okay if I just left it alone for awhile in hopes it will eventually install which most often happens with updates I'm having problems installing?

2018-02 Cumulative Updates not installing

Windows keeps trying to download and install 2018-02 Cumulative Update and 2018-01 Cumulative Update.

It downloads the update and then fails when trying to install. Then it downloads it again over and over.

On the update history page it shows two updates failing to install.

2018-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 base systems (KB4074588) (30)

Last failed install attempt 2/19/2018 - 0x8024200d

2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 base systems (KB4056892) (268)

Last failed install attempt 2/14/2018 - 80240034

My current Windows version is 16299.64

Any suggestions on getting it to install or at least to stop downloading the updates all the time. With Windows always downloading the same update over and over it seems to take priority on my internet connection and slows my browser and everything else
down.

 

2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892) - MS Surface 3

I have an MS Surface 3 (Not Pro) running Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, v1709 (Build 16299.15). When I search for updates, it wants to install 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892). It fails with Error
0x80070002.

I tried manually downloading the Delta and Cumulative updates and installing manually, but they fail stating it is not for my system.

How can I either:

• Get this update to install, or
• If it is not compatible, tell Update to not install it and ignore the update?

I have tried:

• Clearing the SoftwareDistribution folders and Catroot2 several times
• Running the Windows Update troubleshooter
• Every step in troubleshooting including try to run the Media Creation Tool
• Factory reset, including deleting all files and apps

After the Factory reset, updates applied but it again failed on 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892) with Error 0x80070002.

 

Error Installing 2018-03 Windows10 Cumulative Update

I keep getting the following error trying to install 2018-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4089848)

• 2018-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4089848) - Error 0x80070015

Can anyone please help?
