    How can I get this issue fixed HDR when launching games too washed out and dim


    So I played games that have HDR in them like Divison 2 and Mortal Kombat 11 and I noticed that every time I turned them on they got really greyed out it did not look like this before. I tried every possible step to get it working but can not. Also if I set them to automatic in the game the HDR options are locked like in mortal kombat 11 for example. My TV is a Hisense U8G capable of HDR at a nit peak brightness of 1500. This issue happened when I did a fresh clean windows installation recently.I have reinstalled Nvidia Drivers twice. I have it plugged into an HDMI on an RTX 3080 10G. The same

    Turn off the HDR crap in Windows:

    If a game supports HDR, like Mass Effect Andromeda, it will automatically detect your TV supports it and switches it on, and you can verify it is on in the settings of games that support HDR, usually it will say on or off.

    And lastly it will all depend on what kind of HDR your screen supports: HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision and Advanced HDR by Technicolor.

    Desktop washed out when HDR is on.. but only after boot

    Ok so I've done as you suggested - downloaded the color profile for my monitor (Acer XB273K GP) from the Acer website. Unfortunately, that hasn't fixed the issue. Still get that washed out look on the desktop when I start Windows.

    It's not a super big deal - it only takes a few seconds to fix, or I can just leave HDR off and turn it on only when I particularly need it. It's just an annoyance really.

    Anyway, thanks again for your suggestions How can I get this issue fixed HDR when launching games too washed out and dim :)

    windows 11 hdr colors are washed out

    try disable the HDR

    I did watch a video it said SDR is better than HDR because HDR make your color washed out

    I didn't experience it myself though and no expert answered you so you got YouTube answer
