Windows 10: How can I go about removing a product key before I return a computer, so I can use it on...

I purchased Windows 11 Pro for a new computer that came with 11 Home. My computer guy later told me that I need to purchase a different computer. I want to return the new one I have not used the 11 pro, but did activate the key. How can I go about removing the key before I return it, so I can use it on the exchange computer instead? I have not been able to contact Microsoft. I have been hung up on by the automated system and then directed to support.microsoft.com/en-us to create a "ticket," but I can't find where to enter a ticket -- not user-friendly at all.

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

I suggest you to Uninstall the license using the following steps.

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (Admin)
• At the command prompt, type: slmgr.vbs -upk
• Press Enter, this will uninstall the product key from the computer.

Further on, install Windows 8.1 activate the copy with the product key on the new machine. Then again upgrade the same to Windows 10 using Window Update or Media Creation Tool.
